Kegunaan saya.
Dalam fotografi macro, objek yang selalu saya gambar adalah serangga, so I usually use shallow depth of field (nilai f-stop lebih kecil) to make the small object stands out, as many macro photographer would do. Menggunakan nilai f-stop yang kecil juga boleh menghasilkan latar belakang kabur yang agak menarik.
The negative side is, using low f-stop value makes it harder for us to photograph the small object. As I usually focus on the eye of an insect for a photo, i usually take more than 1 photo of an object to get it right, like trying very hard not to shake like an earthquake. Dan juga, selalunya jika kita fokus kepada mata sahaja, other details of the insect seems to be lost. So that's where focus stacking come in handy. See below.
- Photo 1 : Focus hanya kepada pedipalp and tip of the front left leg (see the arrow LOL).
- Photo 2 : Focus to area inbetween eyes and pedipalp and also mid front left leg.
- Photo 3 : Finally focus to the eyes, but it's kinda weird focusing on the eyes and part of the leg, and not the whole face, So lets mix Photo 1, Photo 2 and Photo 3 using Zerene Stacker.
- Photo 4 : Voila! Stacked photo using Zerene Stacker, neat huh. Note the detail stacked from the 3 photos.
